The following article is an excellent review of the 4 most common hand problems that rheumatologists and hand surgeons see. They include trigger fingers, carpal tunnel syndrome, DeQuervain's tendonitis (tendonitis involving the thumb extensor tendons) and arthritis at the base of the thumb. The article explains the medical and surgical approaches to these problems and the illustrations are quite good. This article has already been cited in several reviews and we recommend it to our patients with any of these hand issues.

"Most people know that working out and eating well are critical components of overall health. But a sweeping study published this week in the British Journal of Sports Medicine suggests that hitting the gym won’t counteract the consequences of consuming fat-laden foods, and mainlining kale can’t cancel out sedentary habits."
